Our featured foster
bunny is Misty. This pretty girl is eager for a family to love. Learn more about her at Foster Bunnies.

Please complete our Adoption Application Form if you are interested in adopting.

Remember, when you adopt from HRS, you are helping two bunnies; the one you take home, and the one we are able to take from a shelter to fill the newly opened space.

Latest News

February is
Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month

Rabbits are the third most relinquished animal to shelters and most wait a long time to find a new home.  Rabbits make great indoor family companions; they are quiet, easy to litter box train and perfect for apartment living. Adoption fees are $40 single and $60 pair through the end of February.   Visit our Adoptable Rabbits page to see our many wonderful rabbits waiting for new homes.

Arrow has been waiting one year for a home.  He needs a quiet adult family to love.

If you'd like to adopt, email us at adopt@sandiegorabbits.org.

Poppy's Fund
San Diego HRS takes in several "special needs" rabbits each year and helps shelters with medical cases they cannot manage. To do this crucial work we created "Poppy's Fund." This special medical fund allows us to provide surgeries and medical care for HRS foster or shelter rabbits.

Katia is one of our sanctuary bunnies.  She is an older girl who has chronic GI issues and is cared for through our medical fund.

VOLUNTEER WITH SDHRS
San Diego HRS has MANY volunteer needs including Foster Home Assistants, Hay Elves, Bunny Nail Trimmers, Office Helpers, Supplies Transporters, Shelter Volunteers and more!  We will match you with a volunteer position that fits your skills and  interests. Training is provided.

We have opportunities for Parents and older children to volunteer together, for Seniors, and for those who need to complete mandatory service hours (picking up supplies and helping with hay is perfect for this).  We have occasional opportunities such as Education Events and many regular, ongoing needs.

Check out our many opportunities at Volunteer Match
