Adoption - The House Rabbit Society

House Rabbit Adoption Application

Before filling out this application, please read our Adoption Guidelines and Before You Adopt to determine if a rabbit is the right animal companion for you.  If you do not hear back within 24 hours, send an email to hrs@sandiegorabbits.org to ensure we received your application.

Note:  BE SURE TO HIT THE "SUBMIT" BUTTON AT THE END OF THE FORM OR YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE LOST

Your answers to these questions will help us learn more about your rabbit experience, home environment, and expectations for a rabbit companion, so we can make the best recommendations for a rabbit for you. It’s important for us to place the right companion rabbit with the right family, and to find the best possible homes for our foster rabbits.

All information gathered on this application will be kept strictly confidential.

You must be at least 21 years old to fill out this application. If you are not, please ask your parent or adult guardian to complete the application form.  Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability.

Note: Please understand that we are fostering homeless and previously unwanted rabbits.  The majority of our rabbits came from shelters when there was no more room. or the rabbit had a behavioral or health problem. and was going to be euthanized if not taken in by a rescue.  We are truly their last hope.  The adoption process may seem time-consuming but we are making every effort to ensure our rabbits are adopted into the "right" home for them and that you, and the rabbit, are happy with this adoption. All we ask is that you take your time to make an informed adoption decision, and that once you adopt you love and care for your new rabbit companion in a manner that will support their life expectancy of 8 to 12 years.  Thank you for understanding our level of commitment to our foster rabbits.
